Kamrup Gaon Pradhan Recruitment 2026

Additional Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must meet the conditions below along with the educational and age requirements.
Permanent Residence
The applicant must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of the village or area for which the application is submitted.
Land or Property Ownership
The applicant must own land or other immovable property in the concerned village. The property must be recorded in the applicant’s own name.
Physical and Mental Fitness
Candidates must be physically fit and mentally sound to perform the duties of a Gaon Pradhan.
Government Dues
The applicant must not be insolvent or a defaulter in the payment of government dues. A Bakijai Clearance Certificate must be submitted with the application.
Employment and Political Affiliation
The applicant must not be a government employee. The applicant must also not be a member of any political party.
Social Standing
The candidate should hold a respectable position in society and have a good standing among local residents.
Small Family Rule
The applicant must not have more than two living children from one or more partners. This condition follows the Government of Assam notification dated 19 July 2019, issued under notification number RLR.187/2007/Pt/24.
A self-affidavit confirming compliance with the small family rule must be submitted.
Selection Process
Selection for the Gaon Pradhan post will be based only on a Viva Voce interview. There will be no written examination.
For each village, eligible applicants will appear for the interview. The candidate who receives the highest marks in the Viva Voce will be selected for that village.
The recruitment notice gives preference to family members of an existing or former Gaon Pradhan. The opinion of the concerned Mouzadar will also be considered during the selection process.
