IBPS PO Recruitment 2026
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection issued the CRP PO/MT-XVI notification on 30 June 2026. The recruitment is for Probationary Officer and Management Trainee positions in participating public sector banks.

IBPS PO Selection Process 2026
The IBPS PO selection process has several stages.
Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Exam is a qualifying test. It contains 100 questions for 100 marks and has three sections. Each section receives a separate 20-minute time limit.
A penalty of 0.25 marks applies for every incorrect answer. Candidates must meet both the sectional and total cut-off marks. Preliminary Exam scores will not be added to the final merit list.
Main Examination
The Main Exam includes an objective test of 170 questions carrying 200 marks. IBPS has revised the paper pattern for this recruitment cycle. Compared with earlier exams, some marks have moved from Quantitative Aptitude to Reasoning Ability.
The exam also has a separate Descriptive Paper worth 25 marks. It checks English writing skills through an essay and a letter. IBPS will evaluate the Descriptive Paper only for candidates who clear the objective test cut-off.
Personality Test and Interview
Candidates who qualify in the Main Exam will be called for a Personality Test and a personal interview. The interview carries 100 marks.
The minimum qualifying score is 40% for General category candidates. It is 35% for SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates.
The final result will be prepared using Main Exam and Interview marks in an 80:20 ratio.
IBPS PO Application Fee 2026
Applicants must pay the fee online while submitting the form. The payment can be made through a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
