IBPS PO Admit Card 2026
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection will conduct the CRP PO/MT-XVI Preliminary Examination on 22 and 23 August 2026. The IBPS PO Prelims call letter is yet to be issued.
IBPS generally releases the preliminary admit card seven to ten days before the exam. Based on this schedule, the call letter is expected during the second week of August 2026.
Candidates who completed their applications successfully can download the admit card online. They must use the registration number and password or date of birth entered during registration.
The exam will be held across several shifts over two days because of the high number of applicants. The assigned shift, reporting time and centre address will appear only on the call letter. Candidates cannot check these details in advance.
IBPS will not send the admit card by post or email. It must be downloaded from the official website. A direct download link will be added to the Important Links section after the call letter is released.
Details about vacancies, eligibility and salary are available on the separate IBPS PO Recruitment page.

If any mistake appears, contact IBPS through the candidate grievance system. Do not depend on a self-corrected copy at the exam centre.
The call letter usually contains the following information:
| Details Printed on the Admit Card |
|---|
| Candidate’s name, parent’s name and date of birth |
| Registration number and roll number |
| Uploaded photograph and signature |
| Exam date and shift |
| Reporting time and gate closing time |
| Centre name, address and centre code |
| Exam day rules |
| Space for the invigilator’s signature |
Documents Required at the Exam Centre
Candidates must carry the required documents to the examination centre. Anyone without a printed call letter and valid photo identity proof may be denied entry.
Keep these items ready before the exam:
| Required Documents |
|---|
| Printed copy of the IBPS PO Preliminary call letter |
| Original photo ID, such as PAN card, Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Passport or Driving Licence |
| Photocopy of the same identity proof |
| Passport-size photograph matching the one used in the application |
| Scribe declaration form, if applicable for PwBD candidates using a scribe |
The name on the identity proof must match the name printed on the admit card. Ration cards and learner’s driving licences are not accepted as valid identity documents.
Candidates who changed their name after marriage should carry the original identity proof along with a marriage certificate or relevant gazette notification.
Instructions for the Examination Centre
The reporting time will be printed on the call letter. It is usually earlier than the test time because candidates must complete identity checks, biometric verification, photograph capture and seat allotment.
Entry will stop at the gate closing time mentioned on the admit card. Late candidates will not be allowed to enter, even if they arrive only a few minutes late.
Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth items, books and written notes are prohibited inside the exam hall. Most centres do not provide a storage facility for such items.
Candidates cannot leave the exam room before the shift ends. Plan travel, food and other needs before reaching the centre.
The centre is allotted through the admit card. Those travelling to another city should visit or locate the venue one day before the exam.
IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
The IBPS PO Prelims exam will have 100 questions for 100 marks. Each section will have a separate 20-minute time limit.
Candidates cannot move back to a section after its allotted time ends. The revised section-wise pattern is given below:
| Section | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| English Language | 30 | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 35 | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Reasoning Ability | 35 | 40 | 20 minutes |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 60 minutes |
A deduction of 0.25 marks will apply for every incorrect answer. Candidates must clear both the sectional and overall cut-offs to qualify for the Main Examination.
Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be added to the final merit list.
Pre-Examination Training Call Letter
IBPS offers free Pre-Examination Training to eligible candidates from SC, ST and Minority Communities who selected this option during registration.
The training takes place at selected centres before the preliminary exam. Eligible candidates receive a separate training call letter.
