Educational Qualification
Educational Qualification: The required qualification depends on the post applied for. Assistant Manager is a degree-level post, while Junior Manager is a diploma-level post. Candidates must possess a full-time qualification from a Government or AICTE-approved University/Institution. For engineering posts, a minimum of 60% marks is required, which is relaxable to 50% for SC/ST candidates.

Assistant Manager (Mechanical): Full-time B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Assistant Manager (IT): Full-time B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering or Information Technology.
Assistant Manager (Civil): Full-time B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
Assistant Manager (HR): Two-year full-time MBA/PGDM with specialization in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, or Industrial Relations from an AICTE/UGC-approved institution, with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
Junior Manager (Electrical): Full-time Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Note: The B.E./B.Tech degree must be of at least four years’ duration after HSSLC or three years after a full-time diploma. Similarly, the Diploma course must be of at least three years’ duration after HSLC, or through the approved 2+2 lateral entry system from a Government or AICTE-approved institution.
Age Limit
Candidates for both posts must be between 21 and 38 years of age as on 1 January 2026. The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as shown below. You can confirm your eligibility using our age calculator before you apply.

Age Relaxation: For Ex-Servicemen, the upper age limit of 50 years prescribed for the Unreserved (UR) category is further relaxable by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates, as per the Government of Assam rules.
Age Proof: The candidate’s age will be determined only on the basis of the Class X (HSLC) or Class XII (HSSLC) Admit Card, Pass Certificate, or Marksheet issued by a recognized board. No other document will be accepted as valid proof of age during the recruitment process.

Application Fee: In addition to the prescribed application fee, a processing charge of ₹47.20 collected by CSC e-Governance Services India Limited (CSC-SPV) is applicable to all candidates. As a result, even candidates belonging to fee-exempt categories are required to pay the ₹47.20 processing fee.
The application fee and processing charges are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. Candidates must ensure that the payment is completed within the prescribed timeline. The last date for fee payment is 23 August 2026 for Junior Manager posts and 25 August 2026 for Assistant Manager posts. Failure to pay the fee before the deadline will result in the rejection of the application.
Selection Process
Selection Process: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has not yet announced the detailed selection procedure for the Assistant Manager and Junior Manager posts. The Commission has stated that the selection process will be notified separately through a corrigendum or addendum, depending on the nature of the post, cadre, grade, and the number of applications received. If required, APSC may conduct the written examination or screening test zone-wise across the six administrative zones of Assam.
