The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the SBI PO Admit Card 2026 for candidates appearing in the Probationary Officer recruitment examination. Candidates who successfully submitted their applications can now download their preliminary examination call letter online using their registration number and password or date of birth.
The SBI PO recruitment process is being conducted for 1,500 Probationary Officer vacancies for the 2026–27 recruitment cycle. The online application process was open from 18 June to 8 July 2026, and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for 2 August 2026.
Candidates appearing for the exam should download their call letter well in advance and check the examination centre, reporting time, roll number, photograph and other details carefully. A printed copy of the call letter with the required documents will be necessary for entry into the examination centre.

SBI PO Vacancy Details 2026
SBI has announced a total of 1,500 vacancies for the Probationary Officer recruitment cycle 2026–27. The vacancies include both regular and backlog posts.

Documents Required at the SBI PO Examination Centre
Candidates should prepare all the required documents before leaving for the examination. Missing any mandatory document may result in the candidate being denied entry.
Call Letter
Candidates must carry a clear printout of the downloaded call letter with a recent passport-size photograph pasted on it. The photograph should be the same as the one uploaded during the online application.
Photo Identity Proof
Candidates must bring one original valid photo ID along with a photocopy. Acceptable documents include:
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Passport
- Driving Licence
- Voter ID Card
- Bank Passbook with photograph
- Bank-issued photo ID
- A valid photo identity certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer
The original identity document will be checked at the examination centre, while the photocopy will be collected.
Two Additional Photographs
Candidates should also carry two recent passport-size photographs matching the photograph pasted on the call letter.
Candidates who arrive without the photograph on the call letter or without the required additional photographs may not be permitted to appear in the examination.
Scribe Declaration Form
Candidates who have opted to use a scribe should bring the prescribed declaration form. The form needs to be downloaded separately and completed as instructed before reaching the examination centre.
Note: Candidates should keep around 8 copies of the uploaded photograph with them, as the same photograph may be required at different stages of the selection process, from the Preliminary Examination through the interview.
SBI PO Examination Centre Instructions
Candidates should read the instructions printed on the call letter carefully before appearing for the examination.
Reporting Time
Candidates must reach the examination centre at or before the reporting time mentioned on their call letter. Entry may not be allowed after the reporting time, and requests for late entry are generally not entertained.
Change of Examination Centre
Candidates are not normally permitted to change the examination centre after it has been allotted. SBI may cancel or modify a centre in exceptional circumstances, but candidates should not assume that a centre change request will be accepted.
For candidates appearing in Assam, the Preliminary Examination centres listed include Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar and Tezpur, while the Main Examination centre in Assam is Guwahati.
Call Letter Collection
The Preliminary Examination call letter will be collected at the examination venue. Candidates should therefore bring the required call letter and identity documents as instructed.
Biometric Verification
SBI may capture candidates’ photograph, thumb impression or other biometric information at different stages of the recruitment process. Any mismatch between the biometric details recorded at different stages may lead to rejection of candidature.
Prohibited Items
Candidates should not carry prohibited electronic or communication devices into the examination hall.
These include:
- Mobile phones
- Smartwatches
- Cameras
- Bluetooth devices
- Other electronic or storage devices
- Calculators
- Any unauthorized communication equipment
Carrying prohibited items can result in cancellation of candidature and may also lead to a ban from future examinations.
SBI PO Selection Process 2026
The SBI PO selection process consists of three major stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Psychometric Test, Group Exercise and Personal Interview

SBI PO Preliminary Exam Pattern 2026
The Preliminary Examination is an objective-type online test carrying 100 marks. It consists of three sections, with a separate time limit for each section.

Candidates should note that there is a separate time limit for each section. According to the recruitment process, approximately 10 times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be called for the Main Examination.
The Main Examination consists of both Objective and Descriptive Tests. The objective section carries 200 marks, while the descriptive test carries 50 marks.
