Posts for PwBD: A total of 4 vacancies are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)—one post each for Blindness & Low Vision (BL/LV), Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH), Locomotor Disability (LD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). To claim reservation under the PwBD category, candidates must possess a benchmark disability of at least 40%, certified by the competent medical authority. Candidates with a disability of less than 40% are not eligible for PwBD reservation or related relaxations.
Posts for Ex-Servicemen: A total of 2 vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. Candidates applying under this category must upload a valid Ex-Servicemen Identity Card issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Assam, along with their Discharge Book while submitting the online application. Note: Age will be calculated only from the Class X or Class XII Admit Card, Pass Certificate or Marksheet issued by a recognized Central or State Board where the date of birth is clearly printed. No other document is accepted as age proof.

Selection Process of APSC Recruitment 2026
The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has not yet announced the detailed selection process for the Veterinary Officer/Block Veterinary Officer posts. According to the official notification, the Commission will publish the mode of selection through a corrigendum or addendum after reviewing the cadre, grade of the post, and the total number of applications received.
If required, APSC may conduct the recruitment examination or screening test zone-wise to facilitate the selection process. The Commission has identified six examination zones across Assam and reserves the right to increase or reduce the number of zones depending on the number of candidates.

Tezpur Zone: Includes Biswanath, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, and Udalguri.
Kokrajhar Zone: Covers Bongaigaon, Chirang, Dhubri, Goalpara, Kokrajhar, and South Salmara-Mankachar.
